NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Iona Gaels earned a hard-fought OT victory over the Saint Peter's Peacocks in a key MAAC face-off.

The game remained tight throughout and was deadlocked at 61–61 at the end of regulation. CJ Anthony had a chance to win it at the buzzer, but after his shot rimmed out, the Gaels regrouped for overtime.

In the extra period, Iona took over. The Gaels outscored Saint Peter’s 11–3 in overtime, fueled by defensive intensity and timely scoring. Anthony finished with 18 points and five steals, delivering in the second half and overtime after a slow start. Kosy Akametu was equally impactful, adding 18 points and eight rebounds to anchor the effort on both ends.

Bryce Eaton led Saint Peter’s with 17 points, but the Peacocks struggled to generate offense late as Iona closed the door.

With the win, Iona improves to 16-12 and builds momentum heading into the final stretch of conference play.
